The Software Pendulum

The pendulum of software is swinging back (As it always does)

As budgets get tighter, technology teams are being asked to do more with less and no clearer is this, than in the resurgence (and emergence) of monolithic frameworks such as Laravel, Rails, NextJS and Blazor.

All these, tools allow a single developer to complete an end to end build, and in most cases a deployment as well.

Everything you need is in one framework, no external tools or services are required.

That's a big shift from the niche roles that have been created over the last few years.

It's a trend I think we will continue to see and for the vast majority of web apps it's a huge win in reducing complexity improving productivity.
